TheacronymstandsforArmyHelpCentre,ateamofferventBTSfansfromaroundtheworldwhovolunteertheirtimetohelpotherARMY,beitduringroughtimesortosimplysharetheirhappymomentswiththem.TheirprimarygoalistoletARMYknowthattheyneverwalkalone. Withspeakersfromdifferentnationalitiesandlanguagesjoiningwhatstartedasathoughtfulgesture,AHC’sfutureisgrowingbythesecondasafull-timeprojectspeakingonelanguage,whichisnoneotherthanspreadingloveandpositivity.Butfirst,let’sgettoknowthismissionupclose. TheinspirationbehindAHC ItallstartedwhenAiisha,thefounderofAHC,noticedtheobviouspressureARMYfacewhenvotingforBTSonTwitter.WiththeiHeartawardsshowbeingoneofthemanyawardceremoniesthatrequireamassiveonlinevoting,ARMYdedicatedeverybitoftheirtimeinordertofinishthedailyvotingquota,andsomeofthemevengaveuptheirsleepindoingso. ARMY’sdevotionbothimpressedandshockedAiisha.SinceshehasrecentlyjoinedthefandomandtheiHeartawardswereherveryfirstvotingevent,shewasn’texpectingherfellowARMYtobesodriven. “I’mapeoplepersonwhovaluessocialrelationships,andIhavefoundafamilyinthisfandomthathavebecomeavaluablepartofmydailylife.”saidAiisha,whenaskedaboutwhatmadeherjointheARMYforce“IcareabouteachandeveryARMY.Weareafamilyandnothingcantouchusifwestayunitedandtakecareofoneanother.Ilovemyfamily.” Aiisha’scaringforherfellowfans’physicalandmentalwell-beinggrantedherabrilliantidea.OnFebruary8,2018,ArmyHelpCentrewasbornonTwitter,thuspromotingthe“FamLove”underthemotto“Spreadloveandpositivity.” Babysteps Tosupporthercause,Aiishawelcomedvolunteersonherteam.UnawarethatAHCwillsoontakevolume,sheonlyhired10volunteers,eachofthemspeakingadifferentlanguage. ThemorerequestsfloodedAiisha’sdirectmessagesonTwitter,themorevolunteerssheappointed.Responsibilitygrew,andwiththatalotofhurdlesarose,eventuallyfollowedbytheirrespectivesolutions. SomeoftheearlyvolunteersthattookpartintheprojectareCaiastheofficialfirstspeakerofAHC,andSudewhoofferedherlegaladviceontheside. Whatstartedasasmallgroupsoonbecameamassivecommunity.Ontopofthiscommunityisateamofadminscomprisingof:Carla,Tiffany,andDeborahandtogetherwithAiisha,theysoughttofurtherexpandthegoalsoftheproject. Carla,alsoreferredtoasMamaforbeingAHC’sspiritualcaregiver,isthebridgethatbringstheAHCfamilytogether.Whilejoiningasaspeakerfirst,itwasn’tlonguntilCarlawasappointedasmainthankstoherferventdedicationtothecause.Byhandlingtheadministrativeaspectsofthisgrowingproject,shehelpsmaintainafluentcommunicationbetweenthemainmembersandthevolunteerspeakerstofacilitatereachingouttotheARMYinneed.Hertasksincludesettingschedules,makingDatainventories,writingannouncements,guidingnewspeakers,andmonitoringtheAHCplatform,allwhileactivelypromotingAHConTwitter. TiffanyjoinedAHCasthefirstofficialpsychologymainthreedaysafteritscreation.Herrolesincludebutarenotlimitedtoguidingtheotherspeakersandmainsintheirappointedcases,andansweringtheirquestions.Shealsosupportsherfellowmembersandeasestheirworrieswhentheyfacedifficultsituations.SheisbasicallythehealerofAHC’shealers,assheinvitesthemtocontactherwhenevertheyfeeltheneedtotalkorvent.Tiffanymakessuretomonitornewandongoingconversations6daysaweek,wheresheensuresthatARMYarereceivingtheproperhelpthey’relookingfor,andthatthespeakersinchargearenotfeelingoverwhelmed.Shealsotakescareoftheseriouscasesthatinvolvemoresensitivetopicssuchasdepression,suicide,andself-harm. DeborahwaslookingintojoiningacharitywhenshestumbleduponAiisha’spost.ShetoostartedasaspeakerandhappilyconversedwithpeoplewhounderstoodherpassionaboutBTS.Afterawhile,shehadavitalideaforAHCwhichlandedheraspotontheadminteam.ThisprojecttogetherwithallthevolunteershelpedDeborahdiscoverawholenewsideofher,andhadherembraceAHCasapartofherextendedfamilydespitethedistance.She’sinchargeofwelcomingthenewmainsandfillingtheminontheproject’sworkflow,aswellasguidingthemthroughTweetdeck,aplatformthathelpsorganizemonitoringandcounselingshifts.Ontopofthis,shealsokeepstabsonthemessagesandmentionsthatAHCreceivesonadailybasis. TheexponentialgrowthofAHC Withateamofdedicatedmembersworkingtogether,AHCwelcomedanimpressiverangeofARMY,bothseekinghelpandprovidingit.Thehelpcentreallowedthefandomtogrowcloserthanever,bysharingtheirhappiness,fearsandworries,nottoforgettheeverlastingenthusiasmtheyhaveforBTSinwhicheverlanguagetheyfeelcomfortablein. Themainaccounthostsmorethan30languagessuchasFrench,Malay,Chinese,Dutch,andItaliantonameafew.Furthermore,theincrediblelovethatAHChasreceivedonTwittergavebirthto12subdivisionsthatwouldallowadirectcommunicationwithARMYallovertheworldwhilespeakingtheirrespectivelanguage. Currently,AHCisexpandingitsterritorytoothersocialmediasuchasFacebookandInstagram,inordertoreachasmanyARMYaspossibleandallowthemtoreachoutevenifthey’renotnecessarilyactiveonTwitter. AHCStats AsofMay3,2018,AHChas32.6KfollowersonTwitterassistedby61mainsand320volunteerscomingfromallfivecontinentsoftheworld.TheseARMYbelongtodifferentfieldsofstudyandworkasidefrompsychology,suchasMedicine,Business,WebDesign,Engineering,andLawamongrecurringfields;nottomentionotherARMYwhosharetheirownexperiencesasameanofcomforttothosewhoneedsomeonetheycanrelateto.ThisversatilitygivesAHCadistinctivemarkthatcanbreakthebarrierbetweenthemandARMYthatneedhelp. Currentandfuturegoals IfAiisha’svisioninspiredthecreationofAHC,fightingthestigmaagainstmentalhealthpushedtheconceptfurther.Alotofcountriesdon’thaveaccesstomentalhealthservices,andthosewhodoarediscouragedbythejudgementalcriteriaimposedbysociety. Tofixallofthis,andwhilelookinguptoBTSindoingso,AHCbecameaunanimousvoiceforthesakeofraisingawarenessabouttheimportanceofmentalhealth,andhelpingthoseinneedwhodon’thaveaccesstomentalcarefacilitiesandassistance. AHChasn’tforgottenaboutARMYwhodon’tneedtotalkabouttheirproblemsperse.Someofthemsimplyrequirearegulardoseofloveandpositivity.Forthatmatter,adailysegmentcalledAHCQuotes introducesmotivationalquotesonAHCsocialmediatoboosttheirconfidenceandimprovetheirself-esteem. Moreover,thegrowthofAHChasledtotheprocessofcreatinganon-profitorganizationcalledSpreadLovePositivity.Thefoundation’sgoalistosupportdifferentcharitiesallovertheworld,withthemainfocusbeingoncharitiesthatsupportmentalhealth,andultimatelydonatingasharetowhichevercharityBTSissupporting.ThesedonationswillbemadeinthenameofARMY.
