Atrainingmodeisincludedtohelpdriversacquaintthemselveswithdrivingskillsandthehandlingcharacteristicsofeachcar.Thelessonscoversubjectssuchascornering,throttleandbrakecontrol,andnegotiatingopponents.Topasseachlesson,thelessonmustbecompletedwithinacertainsetofobjectives.Theyarearrangedasinsets,oneforeachcarandorderedfromslowtofast.Eachlessonmustbecompletedbeforeadvancingtothenext,however,completingthemisnotnecessarytounlockcars,asallareavailableinanyothermodefromthebeginning. Simulation[edit] Amongotherthings,thephysicsenginesimulatestires,thesuspension,aerodynamics,thedrivetrain,severalgearboxtypes,clutchoverheating,carbodydamage,andenginedamage.Thetiremodelfeaturesdynamicwear,dynamicdirt,flatspots,hotspotsandtirewalldeformation. Thesimulatorsupports3Ddevices,including3DTVs,headsets,projectors,theHTCVive,andOculusRift(bothDK1andDK2,fromversion0.6Fand0.6G[6]). LFSisalsorelatedtoV1Championshipwhichwaslaunchedin2008andshownonTVintheUnitedKingdom.[11]V1ChampionshipisacompetitionarrangedbyacompanycalledV1ChampionshipLimitedwhoseaimistodiscoveranewBritishracingdrivertalent.LFSwasusedasapartofthedriverselectionprocessinadditiontophysicalandpsychologicaltestsbeforetestinginrealcars.IfsuccessfulinV1Championship,thecontenderwouldacquireaseatinaracingteamandwouldhaverequiredtofullycommittohaveacareerinmotorsport.
