英文裡的「附加問句」和華語一樣，也是較常見於對話中，而其基本的形成原則如下：1.附加問句和主要子句之間要用逗號分開,如Willyougowithme, won'tyou?2. 基本原則：主要子句，附加問句．肯定否定否定肯定3.附加問句中的主詞和動詞須倒裝，且主詞須用人稱代名詞，be或助動詞和not須縮寫。

例外：主詞為I時－－Iamyourteacher,amInot/aren'tI?Thereis/are...的句型－－Thereisabookonthedesk,isn'tthere?4.注意事項：(A)主要子句中若有非not的否定字（如 no,never,nothing,nobody 等）時，容易在附加問句中犯了用否定的錯誤，要特別注意。

5. 附加問句的答句：和一般問句的回答方式相同。

6.附加問句的語調：若說話者對於句中的敘述是肯定時,則句尾語調下降；若說話者對於自己所說的話不肯定時，則句尾語調上升。
